Virtual Reality Headset
A modular VR headset with open source hardware and software to allow web developers to create VR experiences.

Virtual Workspace Experience
A real world use-case for developers to build on top of. This allowed users to access monitors and the internet anywhere.

A hand-tracking-based interaction model.

Key Interactions
Any surface can be turned into a workspace. Once activated, islands spawn to ground virtual monitors in the real world.

Island
Bars on the table to act as a control panel and to ground each display.

Anchor
A single, central tool bar on the edge of the initialized surface to facilitate workspace switching and settings.

Initialization Sequence
A routine to ‘activate’ any surface to become a workspace
Development
A Unity-based experience with Leap Motion hand tracking API and cutting-edge real time browser streaming.

Virtual Reality Phone Viewer
A modal holder and lens set to turn a phone into a virtual reality device.

Eye Piece Insertion
Insert eye piece into main frame. Then twist to lock.

Phone Holder
Insert phone guard into the main frame until it snaps into place. Then slide phone in.

Outcomes
Raised $2.5M based on demos and prototype
Won Pioneer.App startup competition
Delivered headset developer kits to beta participants
Generated $20k in revenue through VR phone viewers to extend company runway

Flexible plastic with a notch system to adjust fit.

Virtual Workspace Experience
A real world use-case for developers to build on top of. This allowed users to access monitors and the internet anywhere.

Interaction Model
After exploring a variety of interaction models, from voice to touch, we decided a touch-based hand tracking was the most similar to users current real world experience, and would be easiest to adopt.

Key Interactions
The workspace experience revolved around the core concept that any surface can be turned into a workspace. Once activated, islands spawn to ground virtual monitors in the real world.
